Materials and Tools

Students Bring:

  • 1 bag of your preferred clay body. Bill will demonstrate using Laguna B-Mix 5. Email Bill with questions

  • Scissors

  • Pen and Notebook

  • Red or yellow polymer rib (Suggestion: Sherrill Mudtools)

  • Needle tool

  • Scoring tool

  • Fettling Knife

  • Wooden Modeling Tool

  • Kemper HM1 Loop Tool (for making handles)

  • Wooden pony roller

  • 4” red garden pot (found at garden centers such as Lowes and Home Depot)

  • Multiple pieces of plastic to cover work

  • Box and bubble wrap to transport finished work

  • Bagged lunch (coffee and lite snacks provided)

    Optional:

  • Apron

  • Banding Wheel

  • Clean Mud Mat

  • Bevel Cutter

  • Favorite texture makers such as bisque or rubber stamps, found objects, and fabric.

Bill Will Provide:

  • Thin foam 12” x 18” foam sheets for making templates

  • Various tools

  • Hand-outs
